Obituary of MASON – Ellen Margaret

October 25, 1925 – August 1, 2010 Margaret Mason, beloved wife of the late Leon Mason of Crossfield, AB, passed away at the Foothills Hospital on Sunday, August 1, 2010 at the age of 84 years. Margaret is survived by two sons and a daughter, Don Mason (Merle), Keith Mason, Marilyn Jackson (Andrew); two grandchildren Joel and Claire Jackson; sister in law Maxine Wickerson and numerous nieces and nephews. Margaret was predeceased by her beloved husband of 63 years Leon, and her two brothers Eugene and Hugh Wickerson. Margaret was born in Estuary, Saskatchewan. In 1928 her family moved to a farm near Crossfield. She graduated from St. Mary’s High School in Calgary in 1943 and married Leon in 1947. She dedicated herself to raising her family, sharing in running the farm, tending her garden, and enjoying and enriching her community. She loved the camper club, singing with the Golden Key, and playing bridge and more bridge. Margaret’s greatest love was her children and her grandchildren. Margaret was honest and caring, and touched the lives of many. All that knew her will be left with fond memories to cherish and treasure.
