Obituary of McARTHUR – Ruth

March 15, 1928 – July 28, 2010 Ruth McArthur of Calgary passed away on Wednesday, July 28, 2010 at the age of 82 years. Ruth married Jack McArthur on October 6, 1951. After Jack passed away, Ruth spent most of her working career at the Bank of Nova Scotia, Lakeview Branch until her retirement in 1993. After her retirement, Ruth enjoyed traveling and saw many parts of the world. She was strong, independent, quick witted and had a great sense of humour. She loved playing cards, puzzles, cooking for her family and friends and most recently her computer; e-mailing and surfing for food recipes. Ruth was very generous, caring and compassionate and touched the lives of all who knew her, she was a devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. Ruth was a devoted Christian who was a member of Grace Lutheran Church. Ruth will be lovingly remembered by her son Ross McArthur (Betty Jean) of Calgary; granddaughters Roxanne Nobrega (Nelson) of Calgary, Rachelle Knisely (Scott) of Denver, CO and great granddaughter, three year old Charlize Knisely also of Denver, CO; brothers Gerald, Lorne and Mert; sisters Mildred, Florence, Elaine and Shirley and numerous nieces and nephews. Ruth was predeceased by her husband Jack McArthur who died on July 5, 1973.
