Condolences
Dear Charlotte, Ray and families,
Please accept our sincere condolences with the recent sad news of your Dad.
I had the pleasure of meeting your Mom and Dad, only once, but found your dad to be a very pleasant, caring man. I am sure you are very proud to be his daughter, as you too, are very much the same. It is obvious that you carry the same appreciation for life as your Dad did.
God Bless you and your families,
Sincerely,
Linda and Vern
Dear Charlotte, Ray and Joo family,
We were so sorry to hear about the passing of your Dad, and although we’re unable to attend his memorial we will take a few minutes at 2:00 tomorrow afternoon to think about you and send you our thoughts and prayers. Our sincerest sympathies, take care.
To the Joo family:
Although we have lived in Lethbridge for just over 21 yrs we recently began to receive the Calgary paper, and saw the notice of your loved one’s passing.
It was in the late 1960’s that two men came into the offices of Watkins Products on 7th Ave. S.E. asking if we could use some help. Geza “Leslie” Joo was recovering from an accident suffered while working on the railroad and an operation that did not go well. I was a young man in my early 30’s having just taking over the business from my father who had passed away.
I think we both were a little cautious with the arrangement until we discovered that we were both followers of Christ – then a special bond developed between us. I remember visiting your home just off 14th street S. and meeting Elizabeth, one of the girls and Peter. “Leslie” was proud of this family.
Yvonne & I remember “Leslie” as an honest man, trustworthy, loyal and most of all a humble man. A story I have told many times is that I worked with ‘a human adding machine’. In those days the adding machine we had was a “modern” crank machine with which I thought I was pretty fast. I loved to challenge Leslie to a contest to see who could add a three column order the fastest….me on the adding machine or Leslie using his skill at adding in his head as his finger moved down column after column of numbers. I don’t know who won the most, but we both enjoyed the challenge.
Yvonne & I enjoyed remembering the fellowship and memories we had with the man we knew was Geza Laszlo Joo, but was “Leslie” to us. We rest in knowing that he is with the Lord and one day we will see him again.
Blessings,
Barry & Yvonne Fawcett
