Obituary of SAWYERS – Ida

June 27, 1926 – July 12, 2010 Ida Sawyers of Calgary passed away on Monday, July 12, 2010 at the age of 84 years. Ida grew up on farms in the Rimbey/Lacombe area in central Alberta. After graduating early from high school, Ida moved to Calgary with her sister Elsie. Ida married Ted Sawyers in 1955. She worked for McDonald’s Consolidated until 1957 when she quit working to raise a family. Ida was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Ida is survived by son Bill; daughter Patrice; son-in-law Larry Adorjan; granddaughter Andrea; two brothers, Alvin Ritz and Lawrence (Lauretta) Ritz; brother-in-law James Mathieson; sister-in-law Pearl Ritz, and their families. Ida was predeceased by her husband Ted Sawyers on June 9, 2010, her sister Elsie Mathieson and her brother Alfred Ritz. The family would like to thank the staff of the Beverly Centre Lake Midnapore, especially the Evergreen Unit for the loving care and support they provided to Ida during her residence.
