Obituary of ROWE – Nina

June 6, 1927 – July 11, 2010 Nina Rowe (nee Goodkey), beloved wife of John Rowe of Calgary, passed away on Sunday, July 11, 2010 at the age of 83 years. Nina was born and raised in Calgary. A true Alberta Pioneer. She was a dedicated volunteer for her kids’ school and later in life for her Seniors Group The Parkdale Nifty Fifties. She dedicated her life to her husband and family especially her grandchildren. She loved square and round dancing, camping and entertaining friends and family. Besides her loving husband John Rowe, Nina is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Terry and Peggy Rowe; daughter-in-law Tracy Rowe; and grandchildren, Jennifer Rowe, Trevor Rowe, Westley Rowe and Ryan Rowe. She is also survived by her brother Walter Goodkey; sisters, Mary Yahn and June Shearer; brother-in-law Al Shearer and Paul Durose; and sister-in-law Edna Benedetti. Nina was predeceased by her son David Rowe; brother Jack Goodkey; sisters, Georgina Lockett, Ethel (Pep) Whitburn, Joan Durose and Minerva Sheard. A Celebration of Nina’s Life will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S, Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) on Monday, July 19, 2010 at 2:30 p.m. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
