Obituary of BROWN – Kenneth

December 13, 1921 – July 11, 2010 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our Dad, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend on Sunday, July 11, 2010. Dad will be truly missed by the many who knew and loved him. He was well known for his quick wit and sense of humour and enjoyed playing bridge and crib with his many friends. He was a veteran of World War II, and was an active member of the Legion. He was an engineer for CN Rail from 1945 to 1981, and worked up north in Manitoba ending his career in Winnipeg. He retired out to Vancouver Island in 1981 and then moved to Calgary in 1998 to be closer to his family. Dad is survived by his two twin daughters Donna Brown (John Meadows) of Calgary and Phyllis Lightfoot (Ray Ettenhofer) of Winnipeg; as well as his grandchildren Angie Lightfoot of Calgary, Scott Lightfoot (Tamra) of Winnipeg, Karen Knapp (Steve) of Minneapolis and Susan Provvisionato (Carlo) of Florida and his great-grandchildren Michael, Cierra, Alyssa, Michael, Liam, Julia and Graham. Dad has two sisters Edna Tomlinson of Saskatoon and Belva Pardy (John) of Sherwood Park. Dad was predeceased by his wife Doreen (Piatt), sister Phyllis Hitchcock and son Don Brown (Deanna). Dad has requested to be cremated, no service will be held. At a later date this summer an internment will take place in Indian Head, Saskatchewan. You may forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. Our family wishes to thank Dr. Isaac and her cardiac team at the Foothills Medical Centre, for their compassion and caring of our dad during his time there.
