Obituary of BORGGARD – Margaret Elaine

September 14, 1938 – May 31, 2010 Margaret Elaine (Ellie) Borggard beloved wife of Del Borggard of Calgary, passed away on May 31, 2010 at the age of 71 years. Ellie is survived by her husband of 47 years, C. Delwyn (Del) Borggard. The family of her eldest daughter, Lesley Sandquist, husband Geoff and children Valerie-Anne, Nicholas, Madeleine and Helena of Beaune, France; the family of her second daughter Wendy Rempel, husband Lee and children Anna and Aaron of Kelowna, British Columbia and; the family of her son Eric Borggard, wife Brenda and children Quincey and Kellen of Great Falls, Montana. Ellie is also survived by three loving sisters, Carol Adams and Sally Copperthwaite of Peterborough, Ontario and Susanne Carter of Scarborough, Ontario. She was predeceased by her sister Anne Munroe, and her parents Myra (Thompson) Grant and Chester Grant. Ellie died at her home after suffering apparent heart failure. Though she was not in excellent health, her death was unexpected; her loss will be felt greatly by all who loved her. She was a skilled seamstress, a talented cook and she loved to garden. She was especially fond of Montana’s Flathead Lake and Glacier National Park, and she enjoyed vacationing in Maui. Among her greatest pleasures was showering affection upon, and experiencing the love of, her grandchildren. She took great pride in their accomplishments and those of her children. Ellie maintained a deep sense of commitment and love for her husband, Del.
