Obituary of CLOGG – Lorna Alexander

May 20, 1930 – April 4, 2010 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, Lorna A. Clogg on April 4, 2010 after a brief illness. Born in Montreal on May 20, 1930, Lorna was a graduate of Montreal General Hospital School of Nursing. Mum and Dad had many happy years in Montreal, at the farm in Knowlton, spent three adventurous years in Kenya and then headed west to Calgary. In addition to being a devoted wife and raising her five children, Mum thrived on volunteerism and serving the communities she lived in. Some of the many organizations she was involved with include the Junior League and Centraide in Montreal, the Nairobi National Museum, and the Children’s Hospital Aid Society and the Samaritan Club in Calgary. Mum was a generous, giving, strong, optimistic and caring person. She made friends easily, putting young and old at ease. We admired her, learned from her and will truly miss her. She was predeceased by her husband of 51 years, Dr. Donald Clogg. She was a wonderful mother to Karen (Dave) of Kitchener, Susan (Richard) of Calgary, Nancy (Bruce) of Victoria, Donald (Clara) of Montreal and L.J. (Rick) of Ottawa. She was the much loved ‘Do’ of Scott, Stephanie, Jill, Mark and Brian Hastings and Devon Viau and cherished Grandma of Stephen and Kim Price, Michael and Christine Clogg. A celebration of Lorna’s life will be held on Saturday, April 10th from 2:00-4:00 pm at Alberta Children’s Hospital Theatre, 4th Floor, 2888 Shaganappi Trail N.W., Calgary, AB T3B 6A8, Telephone: (403) 955-8818.
