Obituary of BERLIN – Howard Alan

October 6, 1948 – April 3, 2010 It is with great sadness that the family wishes to announce the sudden passing of Howard on Saturday, April 3, 2010. Howard is survived by his wife Rebecca, his children Adele Phillipson (Ron) and Michael, his grandchildren Devorah Leah and Chani Phillipson, his sister Leiba Adams (Charlie), his mother-in-law Shyrna Goldberg, his sister-in-law Bryna Goldberg (Howard Harris), his brother-in-law Jeff Goldberg (Claire) and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Annette and William Berlin, his brother-in-law Irwin Lehrer, and his father-in-law Rubin Goldberg. Howard was born and educated in Montreal and moved to Calgary with Rebecca and their two young children in 1982. He taught with the Calgary Board of Education and touched the lives of many students. For fifteen years he volunteered in the Spiritual Care Program at Rockyview General Hospital. His passions were his grandchildren and visiting friends and family in Montreal and Toronto.
