Obituary of BROWN – George

August 30, 1929 – March 30, 2010 It is with deep sadness we announce the death of George Brown on Tuesday, March 30, 2010 at the age of 80 years. George was born in Edmonton, AB to Alan and Anna Brown. He spent his entire career working in the gas processing industry until his retirement in 1986. George took many wonderful trips with his wife and family. He enjoyed golfing with his dear friends at Carstairs and was an active member at the Crowfoot YMCA, where he formed many special friendships. He will be remembered for his wonderful sense of humour, quick wit and caring nature. George had a unique ability to make each and every person he met feel special. He will be forever missed by his family, his daughters Shannon Brown (Murray Quibell) and Colleen Lyster (Tim), and grandchildren Shayna and Daniel Quibell and Devin and Jason Lyster, all of whom meant the world to him. George is also survived by his sister Doreen Dewald (Doug) of Stony Plain, AB, brother Bruce Brown of Morinville, AB, and many relatives in Canada and Ireland. We take great comfort in knowing he is reunited with his wife Mary, who predeceased him in 2002. He was also predeceased by his sister Margaret McCartney in 2005. The family appreciates the outpouring of love and support from George’s many dear friends, especially Hazel Belsher. We are also grateful to Aziz and the staff of Unit 61 at the Foothills Medical Centre. A celebration of George’s life will be announced shortly.
