Obituary of SOARES – Duarte

May 20, 1926 – March 30, 2010 Duarte Soares, of Calgary, passed away on March 30, 2010 at the age of 83 years. Duarte was born in Ponta Delgada, Sao Miguel, Acores, and in 1967 immigrated to Canada with his wife and three young children. He is survived by his children Carlos (Anella) Soares, Grace (John) Cunha, Manuela (Michael) Lapointe, Mario (Deborah) Soares, and Tammy Soares; ten grandchildren, Carlos Jr. (Tammy), David, Melanie, Terry (Shawna), Stephanie, Devon, Brandon, Felicia, Michael, and Emma-Marie; three great-grandchildren Carlos III, Carmine and Gabriella. Duarte is predeceased by his wife of sixty years Laurinda. Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers and Tributes at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church (4747 – 30th Street S.E.) Sunday, April 4, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be Celebrated at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church (4747 – 30th Street S.E.) on Monday, April 5, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. Graveside Service to follow at Mountain View Memorial Gardens.
