Obituary of BROST – John Allen

November 1, 1919 – March 29, 2010 John Brost, beloved husband for 31 years of Audrie Brost of Calgary, went to be with his Lord, whom he loved and served on Monday, March 29, 2010, at the age of 90 years. John was born in Irvine, AB. He joined the Canadian Army in 1939 and served in Europe during World War II until 1945 after liberating Europe. He graduated from Hillcrest Bible College and started several churches in Saskatchewan. John was always ready to tell people he met, about the love for his Lord. When he came to Calgary he started several successful businesses, while at the same time filling in and assisting the pastors at the churches he attended. John leaves behind a rich legacy in those that loved him dearly. He will be missed, but his family is thankful that John is with his loving Saviour, Jesus Christ. Besides his loving wife Audrie, John is also survived by his children, L.J. (Susan), Marie Poulin (Richard), Henry (Deirdre) and John (Lydia); twelve grandchildren, many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his first wife Esther in 1978 and six brothers and seven sisters. Funeral Services will be held at Eastside City Church (1320 Abbeydale Drive S.E.) on Tuesday, April 6, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. Graveside Service to follow at Mountain View Memorial Gardens.
