MORGAN Dawn Marie

Obituary of MORGAN – Dawn Marie

March 28, 1947 – March 18, 2010 Dawn Morgan (nee Hierath) had a great life! Dedicated friend, companion, wife, and soul mate of Roy Morgan for forty-four years, she passed on the 18th of March 2010. Those fortunate enough to have known Dawn will share in the grief and loneliness of her daughters, Jacqueline Morgan, Kristine Morgan and Bernadette Morgan; and son-in-law Dieter Hart, all of Calgary. The ravages and constant battles with leukemia recovery were unable to prevent her from caring for her family nor altering her faith in God. Rather, she embraced her illness with a courage and determination that inspired all who came in contact with her. Successfully fending off repeated occurrences of the disease Dawn was able to enjoy and aid in the nurturing of her four grandchildren Rhiannon, Liam, Ulrich, and Odin. Born in Lethbridge in 1947, Dawn always felt privileged to have had such a great life. Armed with the faith instilled by her parents Ken and Dora Hierath, the constant strength given by her seven brothers and sisters Dennis, Chloe, Ronald, Margie, Bret, Ramona, and Colleen and in unison with her husband and children and an enormous number of friends, Dawn embraced and confronted life and all it had to offer. She was thankful for each day she was given. Never complaining she could be heard advising others and saying, “Suck it up princess”, as she strode forward on her life’s path. We who knew Dawn were fortunate! Each touched, each loved, each aided, each enriched by her positive attitude, dignity and strength of character wrapped in an unbending cloak of faith. A faith in God, God’s kindness, love and forgiveness but also faith in us her fellow humans. We who benefited and loved her so much know she will always be present in us.
