Obituary of THORPE – Rhea Veronica

Rhea Veronica Thorpe died peacefully surrounded by family and friends on March 4, 2010. She was predeceased by her husband, Kieron, and her father, Norbert. Rhea is survived by her loving mother Josephine; sisters Linda Clarke (Steven) and Brenda (Mike Gallatin); brothers Louis (Roxy), Wayne (Aurelia), and Eymard Breau (Jeannine); and many cherished nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews. Rhea was born on May 31, 1952 in Fort Churchill, MB, grew up in Calgary, and graduated from St. Mary’s High School in 1969. She traveled extensively, forging friendships wherever she went. After living in Edmonton, Toronto, and Vancouver, Rhea returned to Calgary in 1987. Her home, Rooster Cottage, became a place of gathering and laughter for her large and devoted network of friends. Rhea always had a special place in her heart for animals. Her passion for life and giving nature will live on in all who knew her. Rhea embodied HOPE: be it related to her disease, a cause or a friend. A Celebration of Life will be held at the home of Rhea’s friend and neighbour, Alana, across the street from Rooster Cottage on Saturday, April 3 at 4:00 p.m. For further information, please email winhold1@hotmail.com.
