Obituary of BENN – Georges L.J.

August 19, 1924 – March 3, 2010 George Benn passed away peacefully in Calgary on Wednesday March 3, 2010 in his 86th year. George worked at the CN for nearly 40 years. He loved to talk about his years in the Royal Canadian Navy during World War II, and was very proud to be a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #4, Verdun, QC and the White Ensign Club in Montreal, QC. He will be dearly missed by Gladys Robinson, his beloved companion for over 29 years. He will also be lovingly remembered by his sister, Joyce Warren, his niece Laura (Pierre Lauffer), his nephew, Tom Warren of North Carolina, sister-in-law Margaret Benn, Ottawa and Margaret Enright, Montreal, Arlene and John Williams, Julie and Paul Walker and Jeffrey and Chynna Williams. He will also be missed by his great-grandchildren, Jack, Milena, Anastacia, Damian and Dominic, and his many friends in Calgary and Montreal. If friends so desire, memorial donations may be made to the Parkinson’s Society of Southern Alberta at 102, 5636 Burbank Crescent. S.E. Calgary, Alberta T2H 1Z6.
