Obituary of BOUGHTON – Charles Albert

December 16, 1921 – March 2, 2010 Born in Drumheller, Alberta on December 16th, 1921, Charles “Chuck” Boughton enlisted in the Army in November, 1940 where he was trained in Mechanics and Recovery. He served during World War II in England, Italy, France and Holland. He finished his military career as a RCEME (Royal Canadian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers) and returned to Canada at the end of 1945. Charles was awarded the 1939-45 Star, Italy Star, France-Germany Star, Defense of Britain Medal, and the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal. After the war, Chuck did various jobs before being employed for 25 years at the Spy Hill Correctional Facility as a guard and assistant deputy director. After retirement, He owned his own lawn care business and ran a taxi service for his grandchildren. Chuck is lovingly remembered by his wife Mary, his sons Ken (Wendy Lynne) and Bill (Iona) and grandchildren Adrianna (Dan), Danielle, Tegan and Keenan. The Family would like to thank the staff at the Colonel Belcher Facility for the care he received during his final years. A Memorial Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Crowfoot Chapel (82 Crowfoot Circle N.W.), on Monday, March 8, 2010 at 1:30p.m. You may forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
