Obituary of ROSYCHUK – James

March 19, 1931 – February 03, 2010 James (Jim) Rosychuk, beloved husband of Maizie Rosychuk of Calgary passed away on Wednesday, February 3, 2010 at the age of 78 years. Jim was born in Smokey Lake, AB on March 19, 1931 to John and Dora Rosychuk. He started in the Oil and Gas business and lived across Canada. He then became owner of James Drilling Ltd. and James Oilfield Services, and later, co-owner of Rockwell Servicing Ltd. He settled in Calgary in 1969 with his first wife Yvonne and children Shelley and Marlon. Maizie and Jim were married on April 6, 1985. Jim loved spending time outdoors, and was involved in camping, fly fishing, sailing, golfing, curling and harness horse racing. Jim also loved spending time with his dogs, Toby, Tippy and Butler. Besides his loving wife, Maizie, Jim will be remembered by his children, Shelley and Marlon; step-son George and son-in law Gerry Desmarais and grandson Ryan Desmarais. Jim will also be remembered by his sister Sophie Hoy and brother Ted (Marge) Rosychuk and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, John and Dora Rosychuk. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Park Memorial Chapel (5008 Elbow Drive S.W.) on Wednesday, February 10, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. Graveside Service to follow at Mountain View Memorial Gardens (17 Ave and Garden Rd S.E.).
