Obituary of SWEETNAM – Victor Samuel

November 10, 1929 – February 3, 2010 Vic Sweetnam passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 3, 2010. Vic moved to Calgary from Regina, Sask. in 1963 where he continued his career as a petroleum geologist for Norcen Energy. After retirement he worked several years as a geological consultant for his own company. Vic was passionate about singing and painting. He also devoted a lot of his spare time to helping others less fortunate. He spent many years and countless hours coaching hockey and soccer, and volunteering within the Bankview and Richmond community associations. Vic leaves behind a sister Muriel (Harry) Hole; sons Garth, Greg and Gary; daughter Shari Sweetnam; granddaughters Jill Sweetnam, Sarah Sweetnam, Alexis Sweetnam, Jenna Sweetnam, and Taylor Sweetnam. Vic was predeceased by his brothers, Ken and Alan. A celebration of Vic Sweetnam’s life will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Fish Creek Chapel (14441 Bannister Road S.E.) on Tuesday, February 9, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
