Obituary of WALDER – William Donald

June 13, 1934 – January 23, 2010 Don Walder of Calgary passed away on Saturday, January 23, 2010 at the age of 75 years. Don was born on June 13, 1934 in Ottawa, ON. Throughout his life he made his home in Ottawa, Saskatoon, Medicine Hat and Calgary. Don enjoyed his work with the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) in Ottawa, Winnipeg and Saskatoon over a period of thirty-six years. Don and his wife Gail enjoyed travelling and seeing the world in their early years together. Most recently, his interest in travel brought him to Spain and England. Don loved time spent with his family and enjoyed living with his daughter and family up to losing his battle with cancer. His biggest passion was listening to most genres of music. He also loved following the CFL and Formula 1 racing. Don’s sense of humour and vast interests will be missed. Don’s family would like to thank the Palliative Community Care team and Dr. V. Penney for their care and support. Don is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Judy Donna and Darren Unterberger and their children Kyra, Kendra and Derek, all of Calgary. He was predeceased by his wife Gail.
