Obituary of WATER CHIEF – Sylvia

July 5, 1944 – December 31, 2009 It is with great sadness to announce the sudden passing of Sylvia on New Year’s Eve 2009 at the age of sixty-five years. Sylvia will be lovingly remembered by her long-time companion Jake; sisters, Rachel and Grace; and her brothers, Gilbert and Errol; sons, Avery, Jack, Harley and Shawn; numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and also her grandchildren. She will be dearly missed for her great sense of humour and “I love you, sweetheart”. Sylvia is also survived by the Waterchief, Peacemaker, Young, Brass, Blackhorse, McMaster, White Eagle, Olds, Smith, Right Hand, Turning Robe, Red Gun, Ayoungman, and Spring Chief families. She was predeceased by Jack Kipp; her parents Mike and Elizabeth Peacemaker and Louise Young; sisters, Rita Brass and Connie Young; and brothers, Homer, Michael and Harvey Peacemaker; and Baby John. The family would like to apologize if we have missed anyone. The family would also like to thank the attending nurses at the Peter Lougheed Centre. Traditional Wake Services will be held at the Siksika Community Centre (Siksika Nation, AB) on Tuesday, January 5, 2010 at 6:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at the Siksika Community Centre (Siksika Nation, AB) on Wednesday, January 6, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. Graveside Service to follow at Paul Little Walker Cemetery.
