Obituary of BJORNDALEN – Carmen Oliver

August 2, 1935 – December 29, 2009 Carmen passed away on Tuesday, December 29, 2009 at the age of 74. He is survived by his loving wife, Kathleen; daughters, Catherine (Paul) and Michelle; son, Robert; siblings, Norman (Bernice), Einear, Sonja (Elmer), Caroline, Carl, Bjorn (Kathy), Lloyd and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Carl and Olga, his brother Harvey (Wilma), sister in-law Luella and brother in-law Dick Steele. Carmen’s occupation as a surveyor took him throughout North America from the Arctic Circle to the Southern U.S. He earned his pilots licence and had a lifetime love of airplanes. He had a great sense of humour and an infectious laugh. Carmen enjoyed helping family and friends as a handyman, and could repair almost anything. He loved fishing, berry picking, wine making and working on cars. Carmen had a keen interest in the history of the world wars. He was very proud of his family, extremely loved and will be greatly missed. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Park Memorial Chapel on Monday, January 4, 2010 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Park Memorial Chapel (5008 Elbow Drive S.W.) on Tuesday, January 5, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. Graveside Service to follow at Queens Park Cemetery.
