Obituary of BROWN – Margaret C.

January 14, 1907 – December 29, 2009 Margaret Brown of Calgary, passed away on Tuesday, December 29, 2009 at the age of 102 years. Born in Glasgow, Scotland on January 14, 1907, Margaret arrived in Canada with her family in 1909. She grew up on a homestead near Lougheed, Alberta with her five sisters. She trained as an R.N. in Edmonton and joined the Canadian Army in 1940. Margaret spent the war years as a front line nurse in Italy. After the war she nursed at the Colonel Belcher Hospital in Calgary. Margaret lived a full life, a dedicated nurse whose strength was an inspiration to all who knew her. She is survived by two sisters, Mary Norminton of Calgary and Doris Fracis of Vancouver. All who knew her will miss her.
