Obituary of FARKAS – Andrew J.

May 23, 1933 – December 29, 2009 Andrew Farkas, beloved husband of Judith Farkas of Calgary, passed away on Tuesday, December 29, 2009 at the age of 76. Following the 1956 revolution in his Hungarian homeland, he immigrated to Canada with his newlywed wife, Judith. Theirs was a journey to a new home yet to be discovered, far away from their family and friends, with no more than the clothes on their backs. Our father was a generous provider for his family, in both time and resources. Besides his loving wife of fifty-four years, Andrew is survived by his sister Marika Papp (Sandor), his two sons Peter (Ildiko) and David (Tina), and grandchildren Thomas, Greg, Christine and Timea. Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers and Tributes at Canadian Martyrs Catholic Church (835 Northmount Drive N.W.) on Wednesday, January 6, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Canadian Martyrs Catholic Church on Thursday, January 7, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. A Family Graveside Service will follow at Queen’s Park.
