Obituary of RUSSELL – Elman Dermie Wolter

January 19, 1925 – December 28, 2009 Walter Russell of Calgary passed away on Monday, December 28, 2009, at the age of 84 years. Walter served in the armed forces from 1943 to 1965. It was during this time that he met and married his wife, Anne, of over forty years. He had a great passion for music that began with Walter performing on the radio at the age of twelve. He continued playing in numerous bands for over seventy-two years. People gravitated to his sense of humour and easy going personality and will be missed by all who knew him. Walter is survived by three children, Lorne (Carolann) Russell, Linda Schoeneman, and Ron Russell; grandchildren, Don (Brandy) Schoeneman, Christina Schoeneman, Shannon Russell, Caitlyn Russell, Breanne Russell; greatgrandchildren, Paris, Aidan, Brielle and Donny. Walter was predeceased by his wife Anne Russell, his grandson Andrew Schoeneman and three sisters, Edna Gardner, Doris Boyle, and Glenella Berghaus. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Park Memorial Chapel (5008 Elbow Drive S.W.) on Monday, January 4, 2010, at 1:00 p.m. Graveside Services to follow in the Field of Honour at Eden Brook Memorial Gardens.
