Obituary of DeCOSTA – Rita

February 8, 1935 – December 9, 2009 With great sorrow and heartache, we announce the passing of Rita DeCosta, after a valiant battle with cancer. Rita will be lovingly remembered by her devoted husband Angelo, of 52 years; daughters, Merina, Lorie (Vaughn) Caron, Charlene (David) Moore; grand children Kaela and Chad Caron; brothers Ding (Mary), Reno, Silvio (Gail), Avelino, Leo (Charlotte), and Dele Bertoia; sisters Louise (Laverne) Herriman and Loretta Bertoia; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws. She is predeceased by her parents Angelo and Elsa Bertoia; sister & brother in-law Avelina & Murray Kowal; sister in-laws Shirley & Madeline Bertoia. Rita was a devoted wife, mother, nonie, daughter, sister, friend and was happiest when surrounded by family and friends. Rita will be dearly missed by all those who knew, loved and cherished her. Rita’s family would like to thank the staff from the Tom Baker Cancer Center, Calgary Home Care and the Intercare Chinook Hospice for their extraordinary care and compassion in her last few months.
