Obituary of WILSON – Arthur

January 25, 1944 – September 12, 2009 It is with sadness that the friends of Arthur Wilson announce his passing on Saturday, September 12, 2009 at the age of 65 years. Art was born and raised in Calgary, the son of Elsie Wilson; he was a lifelong resident of Calgary. In Art’s early years he worked at the Calgary Exhibition and Stampede. He did many jobs from working at the Coral to the Race Track. Art also volunteered at the Calgary Firefighters annual Children’s Christmas Party held at the Stampede Coral. Never one to sit still, Art also spent many years setting up the bingo tables at the Ramsey community hall. In the summer Art would tend to the greens at the Inglewood Lawn Bowling Club. Come winter he would shovel many a retailers sides walks along 9th Avenue (Inglewood). Art was known by friends to enjoy walking dogs, building dog houses, and lending a hand wherever needed. Anyone ever having met Art could never forget him. Art spent his last three years at the Chinook Care Centre where the people became his extended family. Art enjoyed all of his many outings and helping where ever he could while at CCC. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Fish Creek Chapel (14441 Bannister Road S.E.) on Tuesday, September 22, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. Graveside Service to follow at Queen’s Park Cemetery.
