March 13, 1927 – September 12, 2009 Kazuyuki Terakita, beloved husband of Tamiko of Calgary, passed away on Saturday, September 12, 2009 at the age of 82 years. Kaz was born on March 13, 1927 in Fanny Bay, BC, the son of Masao and Itoe Terakita. He was the second eldest of five brothers and two sisters. Kaz was in the flooring business for thirty years. He owned and operated Terakita Floors with his brothers Mitsy and Yosh. Kaz enjoyed many years of camping, fishing, curling and golfing with family and friends. Life’s greatest challenge was his battle with cancer, which he faced with bravery, strength and great courage. Besides his loving wife, Tami, Kaz’s memory will be cherished by his daughter Linda (Jeff) Heartz and grandson Michael. He is also survived by brothers, Mas, Mitsyb (Heidi), Yosh (Yoko), Masaji (Shirley), Bill (June) as well as sisters, Alice (Jim) Tateishi and Kay Terakita, and numerous nieces and nephews. Kaz was predeceased by his parents, Masao and Itoe Terakita, and sister-in-law Jane Terakita, and niece Beverly Ikeda. Memorial Service will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Park Memorial Chapel (5008 Elbow Drive S.W.) on Saturday, September 19, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
