Obituary of SANQUI – Lucio Gonzales

February 9, 1912 – September 12, 2009 After a long and rewarding life, Lucio Gonzales Sanqui, of Calgary, passed away on Saturday, September 12, 2009 at the age of 97 years. Lucio passed away peacefully, surrounded by many loving family members including his daughters, Zenaida (Jun) Naval of Vancouver, Leticia (Deo) Romero and Carolina (Joe) Fajardo; his sons, Jonathan (Iris) and Marvin, all of Calgary. Lucio was born in Penaranda, Nueva Ecija, Philippines in 1912. He is also survived by thirteen grandchildren: Teresita (Pete), Maricar (Par), Liberty (Rob), Roehl, Angelita (DJ), Rowena (Brian), Mabel (Cesar), Grace Ann (Jerome), Arminda (Sean), Nelson (Jacklyn), Erickson, Jason and especially Jiro, who is the only grandson to carry on the Sanqui name; as well as by eighteen great-grandchildren. Lucio was predeceased by his first wife Carolina Alberto; their daughter Jovita Tuazon; and by his second wife Zenaida Cabote.
