Obituary of STRIEGL – William

November 26, 1916 – September 1, 2009 Bill Striegl passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 1, 2009 at the Peter Lougheed Centre in his 93rd year. He is survived by his son John (Audry) Striegl of Ardrossan; daughters, Irene (Robert) Milton of Blackie and Elli (John) Welch of Minden, ON; and grandchildren, Warren (Nadine) Milton, Alison Milton (Brian McCloskey), Rebecca Welch, Janice Striegl-Thomas, and Paul Striegl. Bill was predeceased by his wife Hermina in 1965. His sole surviving sibling is sister Paula as well as numerous nieces and nephews in Europe. A Memorial Service will be held at Southwood United Church (10690 Elbow Drive S.W., Calgary, AB) on Saturday, September 5, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at the Peter Lougheed Centre, Unit 53 for their compassionate care and support. A second Memorial Service will be held at the Strathearn United Church (Chapel), 8510 – 95 Avenue N.W., Edmonton, on Wednesday, September 9, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. The family would like to thank the Edmonton Sudeten Club members for their many years of Freundschaft.
