Obituary of CLACKSON – Robert Alan

November 30, 1934 – August 29, 2009 Robert (Bob) Clackson of Calgary passed away on Saturday, August 29, 2009 at the age of 74 years. Bob was born in Nipawin, SK and raised in the Ridgedale and Tisdale areas where the family farmed. In 1954 Bob joined the R.C.A.F. and began his career as a firefighter. In 1979 Bob retired and continued his firefighting career with the Ministry of Transport for another twelve years. He continued working, until his passing, operating his own roofing company in Calgary. An avid sportsman Bob’s favourite sports were hockey and baseball. He was currently active in old-timers hockey in the Calgary area. Bob is survived by three sons and a daughter, Rob Clackson, Dave and Tammy Clackson all of Edmonton, Linda and Paul Shura of Tillsonburg, ON, and Brent Clackson of Vancouver; four grandchildren, Shakira and Cathryn Clackson and Nicholas and Andrew Shura. He is also survived by a brother and sister-in-law George and Pat Clackson of Edmonton and their children, Lori, Donna, and Bradley. Bob was predeceased by his wife June in 2007.
