Obituary of Black Horse
It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our dear father, brother, uncle, cousin and friend “Jody.”
Jody was born and raised on the Siksika Nation. As a child Jody received his education on Siksika Nation and later on continued his education at SAIT in Calgary. Jody was known for his soft, kind hearted nature, good sense of humor and his contagious laugh.
Jody is survived by his children, Kelvin Jr., CJAY, Mario, JR, Chasidy, and Desiree; siblings, Leonard (Rhoda), Marisa, Della (Jerome), Bradley, Delphine, and Bronco; uncles, Tom Crane Bear and Jerry Black Horse; aunties, Judy, Delphine and Liz (Alvin); extended families, the Axe’s, Stimsons, Raw Eaters, Black Kettles, Back Fat’s, Crane Bears, and Stevens, and many more too numerous to mention. We apologize to anyone that we have missed. Jody was predeceased by his parents, Leonard and Marina; his brothers, Wayne and Joshua; sisters, Vivian and Lenora; niece Jillian; nephews, baby Donald Jr, Baby Joshua and Jeffray; grandmother Vivian White Elk; auntie Annie Black Kettle; and uncle Roland Crane Bear.
Wake Services will be held at the Siksika Community Centre (Siksika Nation, AB) on Wednesday, July 22, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at the St. John the Divine Anglican Church (Siksika Nation, AB) on Thursday, July 23, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. Graveside Service to follow at Paul Little Walker Cemetery (Siksika Nation, AB).
