Obituary of Gilbert Andrew Seidel

Mr. Gilbert Andrew Seidel of Calgary, passed away peacefully into God’s loving hands on Tuesday, June 9, 2009, after a courageous battle with cancer at the age of 75 years. Gilbert was born on February 17, 1934 in Bruno, Saskatchewan. He married Marjorie Jean West and moved to Calgary in 1962. Gilbert is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Karen and Dan Bahr, Jean and Michael Seymour, and Linda and Rick Vanden Berg; four grandchildren, Allyson, Matthew, and Lindsay Seymour, and Sophie Vanden Berg; brothers and sisters-in-law, Ben and Annavon Seidel, Henry and Donna Seidel, and Mark and Shirley Seidel; and by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and good friends. Gilbert was predeceased by his wife Marjorie in 1997 and his brother Raymond Seidel in 1998. Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers and Tributes at St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church (321 – 90th Avenue S.E.) on Friday, June 12, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church (321 – 90th Avenue S.E.) on Saturday, June 13, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. Graveside Service to follow at “Holy Family Cemetery” Eden Brook Memorial Gardens.
