Obituary of Clarice Jane Prestage
Clarice Jane Prestage, surrounded by her children, peacefully slipped away to join the Lord on Tuesday, March 24 2009 at the age of 78 years. We honor her for a life well lived, a family well loved and her Lord well served.
Clare was born to Ernest and Phoebe Hill in Woodstock, Ontario on September 13, 1930. She was the second youngest of six children. Clare graduated from Woodstock Collegiate Institute in 1948 and married Robert Prestage on October 8, 1949. Over the years they lived in many places in Canada and Germany and built a family of five children. Bob passed away in 1982 and Clare continued on in the love of her family. Over the years she was a receptionist, bookkeeper, pastor’s wife and sales clerk, but always a mother first. She retired in 1998 and often spent her time volunteering at local charities and travelling.
She is survived by four siblings and her children, Norman (Cheryl) of Camrose, Kent (Donna) of Lethbridge, Cheryl (Rod) of Devon, Scott of Calgary and Andrea (Peter) of Calgary; she is also survived by eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
