Condolences
I moved away from Calgary when I was 10 and Ernie’s son Stephen and I were childhood friends. He is my second oldest friend (the only other was a baby next to me in the delivery room). At Mount Royal College in Calgary we went to this thing called Kodai (sp?) when we were two or three and it was basically sitting in a circle and singing. My mom and his mom became friends and so then we ended up hanging out at his house near Chinook Centre. Everytime Ernie was there I looked forward to seeing him and he always called me “Marco” and I thought it was really cool he was a pilot. He had a great sense of humor. He was often times in the study with the sliding glass door and we’d kick him out to play magic mountain (when we were younger) and then went onto Playstation. His Mom was always running around making sure “Stephen!!!— WHaat Mom (or Whaat Paddy)?! Did you offer the boys a Sobe?”. I will always remember his parents , they had such a nice and welcoming home and I remember always feeling a sense of excitement every time I was invited over like it was time for fun-time . Ernie and Paddy I’ll remember you forever (and in some kind of way you’re never truly gone as Korny as that sounds)!
