Obituary of Elsie Irene Burlingam
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Elsie, at the Chinook Hospice after a lengthy battle with cancer. Elsie was born and raised in Calgary where, she attended King Edward, Bankview, Sunalta and Western Canada High, schools. At the beginning of her lengthy career in Calgary, Elsie worked at such places as Riverside Hardware, ET Marshall, Monarch Paints and Cloverdale Paint. She finished her career in 1999 by working nineteen years at PPG Canada as the Inside Sales Associate, where she would give quotes and take orders in the flat glass division. Elsie had a great repertoire with numerous customers that she dealt with daily. When she could, she visited places like Barbados, Hawaii, Palm Springs, and several places in Europe. Elsie is survived by sons, Garry (Cindy), Don Jr.; daughters, Debi and Cathy Lemon (Robbie); sister, Mary Lewendon; brother, John (Delores) all of Calgary; sister, Marge Laddick (Ronnie) of Abbotsford; grandchildren, Joanne, Michelle, Shannon, Jason, Kaitlyn, Garred and Haley, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and best friend since childhood Audrey Wilson. She was predeceased by her daughter Brenda Ellen McKenzie and sister Lorraine Heinpalu. At Elsie’s request, there will not be a funeral service.
