Obituary of Willem Jacob Philip Isarin
Mr. Isarin became ill while on a cruise circumnavigating Australia. Due to an acute lung infection he was transferred to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Adelaide, South Australia where he passed away.
He is survived by his sister Berny Boer-Isarin; brother-in-law, Mees Boer; nephew, Jaco Boer and his partner Bram Vermeer; niece, Karin Bruens-Boer, her husband Jeroen Bruens and their children Tom and Koen.
Bill attended the University of Utrecht where he was trained as a clinical psychologist. He practiced as such for a number of years in The Netherlands and subsequently in Canada. Later he took a Master of Library Science degree at the University of Western Ontario and worked as a librarian in Ottawa and at the University of Manitoba in Winnipeg. Bill was an avid sportsman and loved hiking in the Canadian Rockies. In Winnipeg he also earned a pilot’s license and volunteered in air rescue operations. Bill was a very erudite and knowledgeable person, had an excellent sense of humour, and was a most pleasant person who will be missed by many.
