Obituary of Kenneth Frank Sharratt
It is with sadness that the family of Ken Sharratt announce his sudden passing in Casper, Wyoming, while returning from his winter home in Hemet, CA.
Left to mourn him are his beloved wife Jean; daughters, Beverley (Randy White), Kelly (Rob Hicks), Karen (Rod Walsh), and Sandra; as well as grandchildren, Samantha, Scott, Rachel, Taylor, Brett; and a large extended family. Ken was predeceased by his parents Frank and Lillian; his younger brother Roy; and by his son Donald (1978).
Ken was born in Calgary, grew up in the Scarborough district, and attended Sunalta and Old Central High School. His career began with various jobs in the oil service industry and culminated with his retirement from Halliburton as Canadian District Manager in 1995 after twenty-seven years of service. Ken was also involved with the Alberta Golf Association as a director and was a governor of the R.C.G.A. for ten years. The R.C.G.A. and the government of Alberta recognized him for his distinguished service to the game of golf in Canada. He played golf for many years at Canyon Meadows Golf and Country Club.
A private family burial will be held at Rockyview Garden of Peace Cemetery. A celebration of Ken’s life will be held at Canyon Meadows Golf and Country Club, 12501-14th Street S.W. on Thursday, May 15, 2008 from 12:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. A program will commence at 1:00 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
