Obituary of Constance Florence Pollock

Constance (Connie) Florence Pollock of Calgary passed away on Thursday, April 10, 2008 at the age of 88 years. Connie was born in Nottingham, England. She served with the British Military and was a member of the Army Territorial Services Band where she played the cornet. While serving in Jerusalem, she met William Pollock whom she later married. They immigrated to Canada in 1956, residing in Calgary ever since. Connie worked for Simpson Sears Chinook for fifteen years. She was an originating member of the Haysboro 50 Plus Club, Southwood Seniors, an active member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #276, an active supporter of the Salvation Army, and a long-time member of St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church. Those we love remain with us. For love itself lives on. And cherished memories never fade Because a loved one’s gone. Those we love can never be More than a thought apart. For as long as there is memory, They’ll live on in our hearts. Connie is survived by four sons and three daughters-in-law, Stuart and Jacquie Pollock, Gregor and Karen Pollock, Malcolm Pollock, all of Calgary, Ewan and Marilyn Pollock of Saskatoon, SK; a daughter Laraine Pollock of Calgary; seven grandchildren, Jaime, Jillian, Jessica, Adam, Mandy, Jennifer, and Michael; and five great-grandchildren, Corbin, Brittin, Jayden, Jared, and Andrew. She is also survived by her younger brother Ken Parker of Lethbridge, AB. Connie was predeceased by her infant daughter Heather and husband William. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Park Memorial Chapel (5008 Elbow Drive S.W.) on Sunday, April 13, 2008 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church (703 Heritage Drive S.W.) on Monday, April 14, 2008 at 3:00 p.m. Graveside Service will be held at a later date in the “Field of Honour” at Queen’s Park Cemetery.
