Obituary of Fong Beau Shee Yee

Beau, beloved father and husband, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 7, 2008 at the age of 67 years. Beau will be lovingly remembered by his devoted wife of 35 years, Kate and greatly missed by his son, Colin and his fiancée, Caroline. Beau is also survived by his mother Kit; brothers Robert, Gordon, Ron: and sisters Jeannie and Taylor, and numerous nieces and nephews. Beau is pre-deceased by his father Bing and his brother Bo. Beau was born in China and came to Canada in 1952 at the age of eleven, by himself and on a plane to meet up with his father in Innisfail. It was there that he met his life-long friend, Ronnie and started down a path that would take him to Olds, Red Deer and Edmonton. Beau eventually moved to Calgary in the late 1960’s and worked for over twenty-five years at Hy’s Steakhouse. It was there that he created many valued friendships and wonderful memories. Later in life, Beau enjoyed his time working on his stamp collection, his flowers, and attending his community exercise class where he met many new friends. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) on Thursday, April 10, 2008 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S, Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) on Friday, April 11, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. Graveside Service to follow at Queen’s Park Cemetery. Following the graveside, a reception will take place at Regency Palace (328 Centre Street S.E.) starting at 4:00 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made directly to the Canadian Lung Association. The family would like to express its deepest gratitude to Ronnie and Ron Bailey, whose care and time allowed Beau to pass with courage and dignity. A sincere thanks to all the staff in the ICU and Unit 43 at the Peter Lougheed Hospital.
