Obituary
Obituary of Maria Kline
Maria, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, passed away peacefully at Bethany Care Cochrane on January 20.
Predeceased at birth by her mother and a twin sister. Maria was born the youngest of six children in Konstanz (southern Germany). In 1936 she joined a sister in London where she later met her husband Wynn, a soldier in the Canadian Army who she married on October 22, 1942. Possessing a sly sense of humour, she was a strong but gentle woman of kind and indomitable spirit, who extinguished incendiary bombs, endured rationing, and cared for her first child through air raids and the departure of her husband for the Allied invasion of Europe. After the war, Maria joined Wynn in Bowness where she discovered the “joys” of frontier life as lived in a one-room cabin with an outdoor water pump and chemical toilet. It was here too that she found peace and joy through the wonderful neighbours and extended family members who became part of her circle of devoted lifetime friends. As she would have had it, Maria passed on in the company of her husband and many family members.
Her loss is deeply mourned by Wynn, her husband of sixty five years as well as by her three children Don (Theresa), Joan (Chris) and Ruth (Steve), eight grandchildren (Mark, Jenny, Paul, Kristen, Ryan, Colleen, Adrienne and Jocelyn), one great grand child (Jacey), and longtime friends and neighbours.
