Condolences
Scott visited us often at the pub I work at. I always looked forward to him giving me a hard time; it took a while to get to know his sense of humour, but once you got to know Scott there was a lot of laughter involved. He helped me out last year with something for school, I needed a proctor to supervise an exam and he did it for no other reason than because I asked him and he had the time. We will all miss you Scott, your spot at the bar will never be the same. Cheers buddy.
Sincere condolences from Cousin Lori and family
To the Hinman family:
Our sincere condolences on your loss. We pray that gradually, over time may the grief evolve into good memories. In lieu of flowers we have donated to the Bladder Cancer organization in memory of Scott.

Dear Kathy,
Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. May you weather the storm of grief and emerge surrounded in your love and memory of Scott.
Love,

My condolences, Narda and family. It is hard to believe it’s been over 40 years since our paths crossed.
Bonny
I am greatly saddened to hear about Scott, a great colleague who was passionate about teaching. I send you me deepest condolences.
We are so sorry and saddened to hear this tragic news. Scott was a highly-intelligent individual, a great teacher and a skilled researcher. We both recall with fondness and gratitude his insight, generosity, and his friendship, during our Ph.D. studies at the University of Calgary in the late 1980s. We remember some lovely evenings with the Hinmans – great hospitality – and enjoying Scott singing his songs about Blue (his dog) and Red (his truck). Our thoughts and sympathies are with Kathy and all the family for their loss.
Kathy and family, So very sorry to hear about Scott. He touched the lives of many, past and present. He was a great guy and will live on in the hearts of many through stories and memories. May you all be blessed with peace and comfort in the days to come. We are thinking of you.
Although it has been many years since I have seen Scott, I still remember chats with he and Kathryn at her parents home in Lethbridge. My thoughts and prayers are with his family.
I had Dr Hinman for Third year analytic chemistry.
He was very strict, but had a sense of humor about it all. (largely due to my Lab marks being far, FAR better than my coursework marks)
He joked several times that while I would do well working in a lab, that it might be better if I let someone else do the technical writing.
He would be greatly amused to know that is exactly my working life now.
Thanks Dr Hinman!
Kathy,
Please accept our sympathy on the passing of your husband, Scott. We are your daughter Patty’s friend Paul’s parents, Liz and John Simmons. What a sad time for all of you.
Sincerely,
Liz and John
My heart felt condolences to the Hinman family. I haven’t had the pleasure of meeting Mr Hinman, but have had the privilege of knowing and loving his daughter Pam over her many years in Toronto as my violin student and later as a colleague and friend. I know he must have been an amazing person simply by knowing Pam’s amazing personality. I wish the family strength in the difficult time ahead. Much love, Mayumi Seiler
You were very special to me, Uncle Scott. Thank you for sharing your love of music with me.
I love you Aunt Kathy, Pam, Patty and Schuyler. I hope the coming days spent with family and friends bring some comfort and knowledge of how loved you are.
Kathryn: I am so sorry and saddened to hear about your husband`s passing.
Dr. Hinman went out of his way to help me in Chem. 515 where he graciously gave me a D in 1990. He was a genius and I will miss him.
Peace and Love!
David G. MacNeil
