Obituary of Dolores Rosemary Kramer
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Dolores Kramer (nee Collins) beloved wife, mother and grandmother.
Dolores recently celebrated her 50th wedding anniversary with the love of her life, Sylvester (Syl), on June 15th. She was a remarkable woman who modeled tolerance, forgiveness, compassion, dignity, and grace every day of her life. She passed on her loving nature, her beauty, her probing intellect, and her sharp wit to her children and grandchildren, in various measure. Dolores enjoyed discussion of any issue, especially those pertaining to science, politics, history, literature, music and art. She was an extraordinary and devoted mother, dedicating her life to her children, Patrick (Mary), Lorraine (Peter), Stuart (Janice), Catherine (Craig) and Christine (Eamonn). Dolores dearly loved her grandchildren, Lisa, Matthew, Colin, Emily, Christopher, Amanda, Alexandra and David. She was very proud of each one of them and supported them in all of their academic, artistic, musical and sporting pursuits. She enjoyed caring for her grandchildren, instilling in them a love of literature and learning. She never missed an opportunity to attend a recital, concert, game or ceremony. Born in Regina, Dolores married Sylvester in 1957 and thereafter began a life dedicated to her family. She supported Syl throughout his career at Imperial Oil and in their retirement became involved with the annuitant club. She enjoyed the walks, hikes and lively discussion of the vibrant retirees. Dolores supported many charitable causes, especially those involved in social justice, education and poverty.
Dolores leaves a large extended family of ten siblings, Michael (Lil), Patricia, Father William, Bernie, Gillis, Vincent (Karen), Allan (Laurie), Martin (Eileen), Mary Margaret (Dick), and Glenn, as well as many nieces and nephews whom she cherished dearly. We would like to thank everyone for their support, kindness and generosity through this difficult time. The world is a richer place for those who had the great fortune to know her. Thanks to the exceptional medical staff at the Peter Lougheed Hospital, and the wonderful homecare and Agapé Hospice staff who helped make her final days peaceful and dignified.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church (1600 Acadia Drive S.E.) on Saturday, December 15 at 2:00 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mccinnisandholloway.com.
