Obituary of Eduardo Martins NOBREGA

August 11, 1930 – Funchal Madeira, Portugal August 5, 2017 – Calgary, Alberta Eduardo Nobrega, beloved husband of Zulmira Nobrega (Da Silva) of Calgary, passed away on Saturday, August 5, 2017 at the age of 86 years. Eduardo and Zulmira married on December 26, 1959 in Funchal Madeira, Portugal. They welcomed their first two sons Alberto and Mario while still living in Portugal. Looking to start a new life as a family they immigrated to Calgary in 1971. A few years after arriving in Calgary, Eduardo and Zulmira welcomed their third son Nelson. Eduardo found work at Superior Auto Body in downtown Calgary where he worked until retirement and was now home to care for his wife. He lived a long, healthy life up until his final days. Doctors were always amazed that he hadn’t spent a night in the hospital until just recently. He enjoyed watching hockey and soccer with his family. Eduardo is survived by his wife Zulmira, children, Alberto, Mario, Nelson (Roxanne); grandchildren Andrea and Brielle; siblings Maria Helena, Alvaro, Fernando, and Elizabeth. He was predeceased by sister Lurdes and brother Luis. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Peter’s Catholic Church (541 Silvergrove Drive N.W.) on Friday, August 11, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. Graveside Service to follow at Queen’s Park Cemetery.
