Obituary of Loretta Natalie Majew Rider

Loretta Natalie “Majew” Rider beloved wife of Wyatt Rider was called upon by the Lord on Friday, November 2, 2007 at the age of 43 years. Loretta was born and raised in Morley, AB and received her education at the Morley Community School and Native Piccs School in Calgary, AB. In her teenage years Loretta was a fancy dancer and enjoyed travelling to Pow-wows, and Sundances, she also participated in outdoor sports. Loretta was a strong believer in her traditional Native Religion and Culture. After getting married in 1981 her main focus was to be a wife, mother and grandmother. She was kind, quiet, gentle and respectful to everyone who knew her. Loretta’s biggest priority was her family, she loved and cherished her husband, kids and grandkids. She will be greatly missed by her loving husband Wyatt; her daughters Jan Kelly and Tara; her son Sammy (Magen); and her five grandkids. Loretta will also be missed by her parents Sam and Annie Ear; special sisters Sophia, Janerd, Natisha, baby sister Michelle, Charlene (Ferlin), Melrose, Lorraine and Mary; her brother Myron (Dianne); her mother-in-law Violet Rider; sister-in-law Vivian; three brothers-in-law Terry (Margaret), Warren (Cassan), and Warrick. Loretta also leaves behind her aunties, Frances (Donny), Lucy, Christine, Mary (Russell), Marjorie (Frank), Violet (Richard), Virginia (Gordon), Madaline, Josephine, Cassie (Charles) Mark, Irene, Georgie (Mac), Chiniquay; her uncles Howard Ear and Dave (Lorna) Bearspaw; special cousins Elliotte (Sabrina), Allistar (Karen); as well as numerous cousins, nephews, nieces, uncles and aunties. She also left behind the Stephens, Ear, Baptiste, Dixon, Fox, House, Lefthand, Smalleyes and Twoyoungmen families. Loretta was predeceased by her brothers, Sammy and Dion Ear-Stephens, Norman Como; her grandparents Moses and Christine Ear, Bella and James Stephens; and great-grandparents Moses and Mary Bear. Funeral Services will be held at Morley United Church (Morley, AB) on Wednesday, November 7, 2007 at 12:00 p.m. Graveside Service to follow at Bearspaw Cemetery (Morley, AB).
