It is with great sadness and sorrow that the family of Helen Marie Meguinis, beloved wife of Harold Crowchild, of the Tsuu T’ina Nation announce her passing on Thursday, October 18, 2007 at the age of 83 years, following a courageous struggle with her illness,. Helen enjoyed many interests during her lifetime, which included travelling to Pilgrimages, Pow Wows and Sundances. She was a Treaty 7 Womens Senator, a cultural mentor at Tsuu T’ina schools and co-founder of the Tsuu T’ina Pow Wow in the 1960’s. Helen also worked as a nurse’s aid at the Agency Hospital and as a curator for the Glenbow and Sarcee Museums. Helen also had the privilege of meeting Queen Elizabeth II on two different occasions. Along with her great sense of humour and quick-wittedness, Helen was an avid sports fan – enjoying hockey, football and golf. One of Helen’s greatest attributes was her unconditional love of her family, friends and community.
