LOBELLO – Giovanni “John” September 17, 1947 – September 30, 2007 It is with great sadness that the family of Giovanni (John) Lobello announces he died peacefully early Sunday morning, September 30, 2007 in Vancouver, B.C. John was born in Italy on September 17, 1947. He immigrated to Calgary at a young age and then lived most of his live in Vancouver. He will be deeply missed by Linda his wife of 38 years, his son Anthony (Sara), Mother and Father Teresa and Antonio Lobello, Brothers Joe and Gaetano Lobello and their extended families; as well as numerous relatives and friends in Canada and the United States. John will be remembered for his generosity, his kindness and quiet welcoming manner. His close friends and associates often referred to John as the “Codfather” as he worked in the retail fish industry for many years. Cremation and a Celebration of Life took place in Vancouver Thursday, October 4, 2007. A Celebration of John’s Life will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S, Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) on Sunday, October 14, 2007 at 3:00 p.m. If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made directly to the Alberta Cancer Foundation, c/o Tom Baker Cancer Centre, 1331 – 29 Street N.W., Calgary, AB T2N 4N2 Telephone: (403) 521-3433.
