Obituary of Cat Face

(Sa-Koo-ihk-ah-nahn) It is with great sorrow that the family of Alfred Brian Cat Face of Siksika Nation, AB announce his passing on Sunday, July 8, 2007 in Strathmore, AB at the age of 60 years. Alfred was born at Siksika Nation AB on September 18, 1946. He was very musical and enjoyed playing his guitar and sang with the Bow River Ramblers. Alfred is survived by his wife Connie; children Coreen (Desi) Onespot, Laura Big Tobacco, Sherry (Clifford) Big Tobacco, Madeline (Anthony) Scalplock, Bright Star Young, Troy Young, Wesley (Shelley) Young, and Sheldon Young; thirty-two grandchildren and three great grandchildren; one brother Harold (Catherine) Cat Face; cousin Andrew Bear Robe; brother-in-law Gilbert Young; and sister-in-law Grace Low Horn; nieces Judy (Ken) Doore, Hazel Turning Robe, and Cheryl (Herb) Baptiste, Shirley Bull Bear; and nephew Hanks (Eileen ) Eagle Head. Alfred is survived by numerous nieces and nephews in Denver CO, Texas, Tacoma WA, and two great grandchildren in Utah. He is also survived by the families of the Jacobs, Turning Robes, Medicine Shields, Bad Eagles, Day Chiefs, Stimsons, Crow Chiefs, Crowchilds, Doores, Gallegos, and Gallindos. He was predeceased by his daughter Carol Big Tobacco. The family apologizes to anyone they may have missed. Wake Services will be held on Friday, July 13, 2007 at 6 p.m. at the Siksika Nation Community Center (Siksika Nation, AB). Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Trinity Catholic Church (Siksika Nation AB) on Saturday, July 14, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. Graveside to follow at Paul Little Walker Cemetery.
