Obituary of Elizabeth Calef Ormesby Reilly

Elizabeth (Betty) Reilly passed away peacefully at the Beverly Centre, Midnapore in Calgary, AB at the age of 85 years. She was with her immediate family when she passed away. Betty was born in Montreal, QC and attended MacDonald College and received her teaching certificate. She taught elementary students in the Montreal area for over 30 years and retired in 1980. Betty loved the outdoors and her happiest times were at the family hobby farm in Brookbury, QC where she enjoyed gardening, needlework, painting, and visiting with friends and family. Betty was predeceased by her husband Frank, eldest son Peter and sister Joyce Ounsworth. She is survived by her son Steven (Teresa); and grandchildren Nicholas and Christopher, of Calgary, AB; and Peter’s daughter Zoe, of Australia. She is also survived by her sister Carol McCreight; and by nieces and nephews Delphine McCreight, Nancy Kellenberger, Michael McCreight, Dick Ounsworth, Don Ounsworth and Jim Ounsworth. The family would like to thank the staff at the Beverly Centre, Midnapore for the kind and compassionate care that they gave to Betty. A memorial service to celebrate Betty’s life will be held in Ottawa, ON in the Spring and she will find rest at the Mount Royal Cemetery in Montreal.
