Thank you Mama for being the BEST mom you could
be for what you knew how to “do best” at the time
with all what you “had suffered through”. e.g. the WW II
being the oldest daughter of 8 siblings to be responsible for them
while your enterprising mom was running a “franchised grocery store” in Oberwolfach during the 1940s.
I never realized nor appreciated what courage, strength and fearlessness you and Papa (Albert Zimmer) had to overcome to decide to leave Germany post-world War 2 to come to Canada to begin a new life with $100 in your pockets and arriving in Toronto not being able to speak a word of English. I am So very grateful for all you did, your ignorance, and your guilt for leaving your family in Germany to be “soul-fish” to begin your OWn lives here in Canada.
If you didn’t Mama – then i (Susan Zimmer) would never had been born in Toronto – nor had i had my daughters Ingrid , Krista and granddaughters Nicola and Anna here in Canada. Nor would have i met my SoulMate Robert J Morisset in Alberta in 1994!! And so “Que Sera Sera ” Life will be what it will be ! God Grace your Spirit with Peace and Bless us all for having had you in our Earthly lives.
