Obituary of Kathleen Joyner

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our wife, mother, grandmother, and sister Kathleen (Kathy) Grace Joyner (nee Bentley) Kathy was born on December 1, 1935 in Provost, AB. She was one of five children of George and Ethel Bentley. Kathy was raised on a ranch near Big Valley, AB and attended Fenn School until the family moved to Stettler where she completed her schooling, after which she moved to Calgary. Kathy spent a few years working for Imperial Oil, married Walter (Ted), then moved to Moose Jaw, SK where she entered the retail business and ran several successful ladies fashion stores in Saskatoon and Regina. Kathy closed her stores and returned to her beloved Alberta four years ago. Moving to Cochrane, she assisted her daughter Kelly in the opening of Tea and Other Things. Nothing provided this lovely lady more happiness than her family and friends. Words cannot express how much she will be missed. Besides her loving husband Ted, Kathy is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Jay and Leanne; her daughter Kelly; grandson Lee Michael; granddaughter Alison; sister Shirley (Doug); and her brother Ray (Betsy), as well as her many lifelong friends Memorial Services will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church (404 – 4th Avenue North, Cochrane, AB) Saturday, February 25, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
